Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini Member of Parliament Mamdouh Al-Saleh urged the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to release opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq Society, who is currently imprisoned.
Al-Saleh, speaking during a session of the Parliament on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the capital Manama, stated that "many Bahrainis are still awaiting the release of more of those sentenced in various cases so that the joy is complete, especially since there are some who were present in this chamber, including Sheikh Ali Salman, a man known for his balanced and calm rhetoric."
While considering that "the release of Sheikh Ali Salman from prison will represent a new turning point in Bahrain, especially as it moves towards opening up more economic and political prospects," he emphasized that "this issue is not difficult for the King of Bahrain and the Crown Prince, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa [to resolve]."
Al-Saleh also demanded "the return of the exiles who left Bahrain during the crisis," stressing that "their return is necessary."
