Bahrain Health Ministry: Salmaniya Medical Complex Performed 14,304 operations in 2017

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Health issued a statistical report revealing that 14,304 operations were performed at the Salmaniya Medical Complex in 2017, including 11,829 major operations, 2,242 short stays and 233 burn surgeries, while 31 visiting doctors were assigned to 207 patients.
The Ministry noted that requests for treatment abroad are subject to the conditions, controls and procedures of the Health Ministry's Higher Committee for Treatment Abroad in coordination with the Department of Treatment Abroad.
The Ministry also highlighted that more than 600 applications for treatment abroad were registered during 2017, in which 584 patients were admitted to 14 countries with hospitals accredited by the Higher Committee for Treatment Abroad. The Ministry has a list of hospitals and health centers to which patients are sent and are deemed certified and reliable.
