Number of Diraz Detainees Mounts, MoI Says it Arrested 286 Individuals

Bahrain Mirror: The number of detainees in Diraz village arrested in the security operation carried out by the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday mounted to 286. The Ministry of Interior announced in a statement on (May 23, 2017) that the police arrested 286 individuals while dispersing a protest outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house.
The Ministry stressed in its statement that they will confront any gathering or inciting calls in the framework of maintaining peace and protecting public order. The Ministry highlighted that it will continue to enforce the law as part of its commitment to safeguarding public security. It added "this morning, police deployed on a targeted security operation to Diraz and were able to remove a series of illegal road blocks and barricades. Traffic in the area has returned to normal."
